thanksgiving... kinda

The Erdmanns (Jim, Diane, and Kelli) came down to spend time with us and the other Erdmanns down here in Springville for Thanksgiving.

I don't have much pictures about that. just a few on film.
but here are some pictures of our adventure in "Satan's Playground" or whatever you call it....

I've always wanted to know what this was. Jim says it was a smoke stack. Crazy

The next day... I think... Matt, Kelli, and I went to the studio to goof around and help me get a "jumping" shot I need for some project.

Kelli is Kute.

Kelli is Krazy
Matthew is a janitor
(he will be if he doesn't pass calculus)
I think this one is my favorite...
but this is my favorite shirt for sure.

After the studio we went to the old mental hospital where matt and i took our engagement pictures and took some more pictures of kelli.
It was the best. no retouching needed. kelli is a good model.

we have lots of these but i think this one is my favorite
matthew is a good assistant/model/weird hair man

this is totally a catalog photo

new haircut

Earlier in the year I had decided I was going to grow out my hair. It had gotten down to my collarbone and that was the longest its been in ten years! The only thing is, it looked really frumpy cause its pretty beefcake-y. SO Rachel, who is my friend/photo stylist is now my friend/photo stylist/hair stylist. She works at the Metropolitan salon in Provo. Super rad.

This is my haircut. Its waaaaay thinner and feels super duper. Keep in mind I got it cut yesterday and these pictures are taken after I slept in and didn't have time to shower before work....

it's pretty asymmetrical so I'm putting all the pictures on here because I can't tell which one gives you the best idea of what it looks like (when I wake up in the morning).

I was trying to go cross eyed...

christmas tree?

so i know that it isn't even thanksgiving yet but this is our first christmas together and i think i got a little excited. plus i know we won't have any free time after this week because it's push time pretty soon.

so here you go. i'm crazy but if we put up a tree i want at least three weeks to enjoy it
(and we have three weeks til we come home!!!)

most of the decorations are the leftovers of those ugly headband things i thought my bridesmaids were going to wear... and some hemp and stuff...

these are the little yarn things hanging from the ceiling. we don't have a star or an angel or anything.

i'm going to learn how to needle felt

but seriously... look at all the cool things you can do with it!

Pinback @ The Depot in SLC

I forgot that my class this monday morning was canceled so I used the time to upload the pinback videos from their show this past weekend. These are mostly just clips from some of the songs. The only clip that includes the full song is Boo. Enjoy.

It was amazing.

I'm pretty sure this is in the right order too.

Chaos Engine.

Barnes.

Boo.

AFK. This was their closer but afterwards they played an amazing encore that was almost as long as their set it seemed.

The Devil.

Sender.

Ok, I better get to studying. Thanks for watching.

preliminary pinback post

We went to see pinback play last night. AMAZING show. Matt is dying to post about it (it's his turn) but he has too much homework to do tonight and I told him no looking at Pinback photos until his homework is done. (he has six years of math homework to do and every time i come in the room he's looking at pictures.) This post is to prevent matthew from having a COW.
SO. Here is a picture with us and Zach from Pinback and also Chris who's played drums with them for quite some time now. They were both really friendly. I wish I could have gotten a better look at Zach's hand because it has got to be SO gnarly from playing the bass the way he does...

i'm in love with ugly shoes

matt was asking what i wanted for christmas. i told him i want some boots or some nice shoes so i can get rid of some of my junky ones for the first time in years. apparently i am going through an "ugly boot" phase. and riding boots are dumb. so are tall boots. this post is mostly for matt. i made some ugly shoe collages. to show how much i like them. if anyone wants to get me these for christmas matt and i would be soooo happy.

the biggest reason to go to orlando this spring

i'm here at work with the sole purpose of getting my talk written by ten o'clock. instead i am looking up sneak previews of the new "harry potter" ...land or something opening in universal studios, orlando in the spring.

i was also thinking how the photography department is thinking about going to key west for the spring trip this year instead of san fran or LA like they usually do.
according to google maps it's a seven hour trip from key west to orlando but...

just LOOK at this place... harry potter...LAND!

wild horses couldn't stop me, harry

flashback: Summer

This summer (before we got the beautiful imac) i used matt's laptop and have a ton of stuff saved to the desktop i need to get rid of. of all the stuff on the desktop i realized i have a bunch of pictures from this summer that never got on our blog.

since we are going through this nice little phase of warm weather before the inevitable pre-thanksgiving snow storm i'm going to post them (then i can delete them from the desktop)

here they are...

These photos are from our excursion on mount pilchuck. we were looking for goat lake and never found it so we hiked pilchuck instead. gorgeous hike. i feel like i took more pictures but these are the ones i have right now...

We hiked in our swimsuits... we were looking for goat lake as i said earlier. but we ended up hiking the last 45 mins in snow... in our swimsuits... in my chacos. i had cold, dirty feet.

this is from when we made potato chips so matt could experience all the different uses of his cutco peeler. they were very good but we all felt miserable that night...
fourth of july 2009

the ward breakfast involved cherries...delicious cherries and you can tell who ate them and who didn't.
we bought some face paint (same stuff i used for this years halloween)

we had approx. 6,000,000 bottle rockets that had to be lit off before we could light any aerials. it was not for the faint of heart. or the athsmatics.

gross.
boys...
at least real grenades explode. these just smelled like fart.
jim and kelli used my hemophiliac husband as a launch pad for bottle rockets. fortunately his pants that we got in hollywood went unscathed.
eagle tattoo and flag. 100% american (minus the rainbow tattoo... unacceptable)
